Brutus in Your Calaveras County Animal Services Pet of the Week

San Andreas, CA…Meet Brutus, a Pit bull mix estimated to be about six years old. Truly a gentle giant, Brutus is extraordinarily affectionate and very much wants to please. He walks nicely on a leash and eagerly sits for treats. He has always been a happy boy in spite of a bad ear infection when he first arrived at the shelter and now being treated. Brutus tested well with other dogs, too, both male and female, although a meet ‘n’ greet will be required should you have one at home. We also believe he is housebroken since he keeps his kennel clean. Quite simply, Brutus is a fun and friendly dog who will add joy to your life.

As with all dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter, Brutus is micro-chipped and up-to-date on his routine vaccinations. He will need to be neutered before going home with you. Brutus is also eligible for the 55-5-5 Program described in the box below.

Come visit Brutus, impound no. AO52858, along with other dogs and cats awaiting adoption at Calaveras County Animal Services, 901 Jeff Tuttle Drive, San Andreas (in government center by the new jail). Animal Services is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday (closed for lunch from 1-2 p.m.). Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
When the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off––reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.
