Cal-Trans Traffic Advisory for Alpine County

Alpine County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct various lane closures on State Routes 4, 88, 89 and 207 for bridge and drainage work, and roadway construction operations, though some scheduled work might be suspended due to the Tamarack Fire.

Work is scheduled to occur as follows:
Route 4
• Work on the Silver Creek Bridge as part of the Mountain Counties Bridge Rails
project likely will be suspended next week due to the Tamarack Fire. If work
resumes, there will be long-term one-way traffic control from Pennsylvania Creek
to Wolf Creek Road.
• One-way traffic control from Ganns Meadow Drive to the Calaveras/Alpine
County line for paving work beginning Monday, August 2, through Thursday,
August 5, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday,
August 6, 2021.
Route 88
• One-way traffic control from Woods Lake Road to the entrance of Meiss
Meadow for drainage work beginning Monday, August 2, through Thursday,
August 5, from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday,
August 6, 2021.

• Work on the West Fork Carson River Bridge as part of the Mountain Counties
Bridge Rails project likely will be suspended next week due to the Tamarack Fire.
If work resumes, there will be long-term one-way traffic control from Douglas Way
to Kit Carson Campground Road.
Route 89
• Work on the Markleeville Creek Bridge as part of the Mountain Counties Bridge
Rails project likely will be suspended next week due to the Tamarack Fire. If work
resumes, there will be long-term one-way traffic control from Markleeville
Campground Road to Montgomery Street.
Route 207
• One-way traffic control from Route 4 to Mt. Reba Resort for paving work
beginning Monday, August 2, through Friday, August 6, 2021, from 6:00 a.m. to
6:00 p.m. This work is part of a repaving project in Alpine County from Route
4/207 to the end of Route 207 at Mt. Reba Resort, and in Calaveras County from
west of Cabbage Patch to the Alpine County line.
Motorists should expect 10-minute delays in areas where work is being conducted, and
take alternate routes whenever possible.
Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents,
weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
