Here tourism is a large portion of the economy. In the Lake Tahoe area tourism is the economy. The Lake Tahoe area has also been aggressive in deterring visitors including part time homeowners at the start. They have since changed messaging and are now welcoming the second home owners but not tourists that do not have financial ties to the area.<\/p>\n<p>The Lake Tahoe area is also very hard to manage from a jurisdiction perspective.
