One great things about our area is that if you don&#8217;t like the weather where you are in 30 minutes or so up or down the hill you can change your heat setting by over 20 degrees. Heat risks will range from<br \/>\nmoderate to very high levels during this time, which could impact<br \/>\nthe general population, especially those spending an extended<br \/>\ntime outdoors. Relief from the heat during the overnight hours<br \/>\nwill remain minimal with lows in the upper 60s to around 80. Any<br \/>\nlocalized dense smoke may impact these temperatures. Overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s to<br \/>\n  around 80 for Valley and foothills.<\/p>\n<p>* WHERE&#8230;Sacramento Valley, northern San Joaquin Valley, Delta,<br \/>\n  foothills, and mountains below 5500 ft elevation.<\/p>\n<p>* WHEN&#8230;From 11 AM Saturday to 6 PM PDT Tuesday. Hottest<br \/>\n  temperatures are expected on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>* IMPACTS&#8230;Heat related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and<br \/>\n  heat stroke can occur due to prolonged exposure to hot<br \/>\n  temperatures, even to the general population. People most<br \/>\n  vulnerable include those who spend lots of time outdoors,<br \/>\n  those without air conditioning, young children, the elderly<br \/>\n  and those with chronic illness.<\/p>\n<p>* ADDITIONAL DETAILS&#8230;Daily and September monthly records will<br \/>\n  be threatened in this late-season heatwave.<\/p>\n<p>PRECAUTIONARY\/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out<br \/>\nof the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young<br \/>\nchildren and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles<br \/>\nunder any circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When<br \/>\npossible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or<br \/>\nevening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat<br \/>\nstroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when<br \/>\npossible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational<br \/>\nSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent<br \/>\nrest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Poor<br \/>\nhumidity recovery is expected during this time frame as well,<br \/>\nwith daytime humidities topping out in the teens. These<br \/>\nconditions may impact any ongoing wildfires. Valley winds around 10<br \/>\n  to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Mountains and foothill<br \/>\n  winds around 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.
