Jackson, CA…The show must go on for the 21st Annual Hospice of Amador & Calaveras \u201cCelebrate Life\u201d Art Auction,and it will\ua7f7VIRTUALLY\ua7f7on Friday, September 18 on Facebook live.\u00a0 This year\u2019s event promises the same excitement as in years\u2019 past, with a live art auction, a raffle-style drawing for valuable prizes, and the ever-popular final event of the evening, which is being called, \u201cI Stand for Hospice.\u201d Director of Community Outreach Wendy Mathis, the lead organizer of the event said, \u201cWe\u2019ve been gathering donations of original art and raffle prizes, and we are so excited to see local artists and businesses stepping up during such a challenging time to help us reach our fundraising goal. Every year we are amazed at the community\u2019s generosity, but considering this year\u2019s challenges, it is even more special to receive this kind of support.\u201d<\/p>\n

In past years, more than $15,000 has been raised during the final event of the night. This year, \u201cI Stand for Hospice\u201d will consist of a final slideshow comprised of pictures sent in by members of the community who have participated \u201cvirtually\u201d and pledged funds electronically, prior to the event.<\/p>\n

\u201cI Stand for Hospice\u201d donations in any amount are welcomed, Mathis said: \u201cWe appreciate $5, $50, $500 or more! Every single donation adds to our direct patient care needs and helps tremendously.\u201d<\/p>\n

To participate in \u201cI Stand for Hospice,\u201d visit www.hospiceofamador.com\/donations<\/a><\/u><\/span> and make a donation electronically, or send a check to Hospice in any amount, to the address below. To be included in the slide show, email an image of the donor(s) holding a homemade sign that says, \u201cI Stand for Hospice\u201d by September 1. Donors may also call 209-223-5500 to make a pledge over the phone with a credit card.<\/p>\n
