{"id":108744,"date":"2020-10-18T10:42:28","date_gmt":"2020-10-18T17:42:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/69.46.6.243\/?p=108744"},"modified":"2020-10-18T10:42:28","modified_gmt":"2020-10-18T17:42:28","slug":"railtown-1897-to-present-trains-tracks-terror-drive-thru-event-on-two-evenings-october-30-31","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=108744","title":{"rendered":"Railtown 1897 to Present \u201cTrains, Tracks &#038; Terror!\u201d Drive-Thru Event on Two Evenings, October 30 &#038; 31"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jamestown, CA&#8230; In compliance with all state, city and county guidelines, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park (SHP) and the California State Railroad Museum Foundation are thrilled to present \u201cTrains, Tracks &amp; <em>Terror!<\/em>,\u201d a newly created drive-thru event on Friday, October 30 &amp; Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 6 to 10 p.m. each evening.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-108745\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/RT-Tales_Of_The_Roundhouse_LindaHogue19-1-e1603042560451.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"377\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A safe alternative to trick-or-treating or haunted house activities, carloads of guests are invited to follow a pre-planned route through the Railtown 1897 property, if they dare. Drivers will be guided to go beyond the gates, along the side of the historic Roundhouse, out back past the turntable and ending up at the tri-dam machine shop that is not normally available for public viewing. Along the way, guests will experience a variety of scary yet entertaining vignettes safely from the comfort of their cars (with spooky audio broadcast through FM car radios), a sampling of which includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Witch Station<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 \u2018real\u2019 and animated witches will surround a cauldron filled with a bubbling skeleton;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Graveyard and Zombie Camp<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 guests will see spooky head stones, body parts, and even strolling zombies who often try to get inside passing cars;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Scary \u2018Feast\u2019 Table<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 scary dinner guests will dine on a gruesome meal of body parts;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Pumpkin Row<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 festive carved pumpkins, some who even sing;<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>The \u2018Mad\u2019 Machinist Shop<\/strong>\u00a0(may not be suitable for young children, so an alternate route is available) \u2013 always eager for new victims, \u2018mad\u2019 bloody machinists will be sawing bodies and revving up chain saws.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the famous Sierra No. 3<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\u00a0(also known as the \u201cMovie Star Locomotive) will be front and center on the turntable, all steamed up, and \u2018spooked\u2019 out, with a skeleton crew. Also, scary scenes will be \u00a0projected through windows and doorways.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Created and hosted by Railtown 1897 SHP and the California State Railroad Museum Foundation, \u201cTrains, Tracks &amp;\u00a0<em>Terror!<\/em>\u201d is made possible by generous donations from local community organizations. A first-come, first served experience, the cost for \u201cTrains, Tracks &amp;\u00a0<em>Terror!<\/em>\u201d is a $5 donation per car (single family vehicles only; no motorhomes, buses, trailers or dually trucks please). Visitors must always remain in their vehicles and the experience may not be suitable for young children.
