{"id":111708,"date":"2020-12-14T13:07:46","date_gmt":"2020-12-14T21:07:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/69.46.6.243\/?p=111708"},"modified":"2020-12-14T13:07:46","modified_gmt":"2020-12-14T21:07:46","slug":"recall-effort-against-california-governor-gavin-newsom-reaches-major-milestones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=111708","title":{"rendered":"Recall Effort Against California Governor Gavin Newsom Reaches Major Milestones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sacramento, CA&#8230;The official recall effort against California Governor Gavin Newsom reached a major milestone on Thursday (Dec 10, 2020) when they were notified by California Secretary of State Alex Padilla that they have collected and met the 10 percent threshold of signatures requirement per state election code.\u00a0 This now mandates that registrar recorder officials in every county in California must begin hand verifying every petition that has been collected.\u00a0 The campaign is also announcing that they have also collected more than 800,000 signatures that have or are in the process of being hand delivered to county election officials throughout California.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/recallgavin2020.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-111717\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/gavinrecall.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"513\" height=\"307\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/gavinrecall.jpg 513w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/gavinrecall-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/gavinrecall-122x74.jpg 122w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 513px) 100vw, 513px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1.5 million verified signatures are required to trigger a special election to recall Newsom.<\/p>\n<p>In an email from Robbie Anderson with the Secretary of State\u2019s office in Sacramento to Orrin Heatlie, the Lead Proponent of RecallGavin2020:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought you would like to know that the 10% threshold has been met by you and your team, so counties are now required to verify the signatures,\u201d Anderson wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Heatlie issued the following statement regarding the milestone:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday our efforts to Recall California Governor Gavin Newsom have entered a dramatic new phase, and we cannot be prouder of everyone who is working tirelessly to remove America\u2019s worst governor from office,\u201d Heatlie said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe campaign is full speed ahead. To date, our amazing team of volunteers have gathered about 800,000 signatures from California voters throughout the state.
