Bear Valley, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is preparing to begin a repaving and rehabilitation project that will improve more than 19 total lane miles of State Route 207 near Lake Alpine in Alpine County and Route 4 near Tamarack in Alpine County.<\/p>\n

Construction is scheduled to begin June 17, 2021 and will take place on Route 207 from the Route 4 junction to Mt. Reba Resort, and on Route 4 near Tamarack from west of Cabbage Patch Log Road to the Alpine County line.
\nThis route is important for residents and outdoor enthusiasts who visit scenic Lake Alpine and Bear Valley Ski Resort.<\/p>\n

In addition to rehabilitating the road surface, the highway will be widened, re-striped, damaged culverts will be repaired, and rumble strips will be installed to improve motorists\u2019 safety.<\/p>\n

Work is scheduled to continue into fall 2021. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
\nLane and shoulder closures and one-way traffic control are scheduled to begin the week of June 21, 2021. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. Signs will alert travelers approaching the construction zone that speed limits will be reduced.<\/p>\n

The estimated $4.25 million project will be performed by George Reed Construction Inc., of Modesto, CA.<\/p>\n
