This closure will begin Monday, June 21, and remain in effect until further notice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/lakesidenews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/CA_Transparent_BR-01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-26338\" src=\"http:\/\/lakesidenews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/CA_Transparent_BR-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"824\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15346\" src=\"http:\/\/lakesidenews.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/spi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"234\" height=\"215\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSPI takes its commitment to protecting our forest resources and public safety seriously,\u201d said Andrea Howell, SPI spokesman. \u201cWith this year\u2019s extreme drought conditions having substantially increased the risk of wildfire, we have made the difficult decision to close our lands to public access and recreation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The public\u2019s use of SPI roads and walk-in access to their privately-owned lands will not be allowed. SPI will regularly evaluate the situation; however, it is anticipated the closure will remain in effect into Fall 2021.
