* WHAT…Dangerously hot conditions with highs 102 to 111,
\n hottest across the Central Valley.<\/p>\n
* WHERE…Much of interior northern California.<\/p>\n
* WHEN…Until 8 PM PDT Sunday.<\/p>\n
* IMPACTS…Widespread high to very high heat risk with record-
\n breaking heat possible. Extreme heat will significantly increase
\n the potential for heat-related illnesses.<\/p>\n
PRECAUTIONARY\/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…<\/p>\n
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
\nof the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
\nchildren and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
\nunder any circumstances.<\/p>\n
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
\npossible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
\nevening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
\nstroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
\npossible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
\nSafety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
\nrest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
\novercome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.
