Sonora, CA…On Monday, July 12th, during the 5 P.M. hour, our dispatch center received a phone call that a known theft suspect was in the store. The subject was identified as 24 year-old Joseph Rizzuto of Sonora.<\/p>\n

A records check of Rizzuto confirmed that he had four Felony Warrants for his arrest. Rizzuto was also named as a suspect from a burglary on June 29, 2021 where he eluded Law Enforcement in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Officer’s located Rizzuto inside a business in the 1000 block of Sanguinetti Rd. and a foot pursuit ensued. With the assistance of a good Samaritan, Rizzuto was taken into custody without further incident.<\/p>\n

Rizzuto was transported to the Tuolumne County Jail where he was booked for his warrants and additional charges of resisting arrest and shop lifting. Rizzuto’s bail was set at $95,000.<\/p>\n
