Sacramento, CA…Governor Gavin Newsom today\u00a0signed an executive order to support communities impacted by recent wildfires and bolster response and recovery efforts.<\/p>\n

The order expedites debris removal and cleanup of hazardous waste resulting from the fires; extends the state\u2019s prohibition on price gouging in impacted counties through October 20, 2021; and\u00a0helps ensure adequate staffing for fire response by waiving work hour limitations for retired annuitants, among other provisions.<\/p>\n

Governor Newsom has proclaimed a state of emergency in counties impacted by the\u00a0Caldor Fire<\/a>,\u00a0McFarland and Monument fires<\/a>,\u00a0Antelope and River fires<\/a>,\u00a0Dixie, Fly and Tamarack fires<\/a>\u00a0and the\u00a0Lava Fire and Beckwourth Complex<\/a>.<\/p>\n

California recently secured\u00a0Fire Management Assistance Grants\u202f(FMAGs) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to support the state\u2019s response to the\u00a0Dixie Fire in\u00a0Lassen<\/a>,\u00a0Butte and Plumas counties<\/a>\u00a0and the response to the\u00a0Caldor Fire<\/a>,\u00a0Monument\u00a0Fire<\/a>,\u00a0River Fire<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Lava Fire<\/a>.<\/p>\n
