{"id":132104,"date":"2021-11-14T13:53:55","date_gmt":"2021-11-14T21:53:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=132104"},"modified":"2021-11-14T13:53:55","modified_gmt":"2021-11-14T21:53:55","slug":"cal-oes-reminds-2021-wildfire-survivors-to-sign-up-for-free-debris-removal-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=132104","title":{"rendered":"Cal OES Reminds 2021 Wildfire Survivors to Sign Up for Free Debris Removal Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sacramento, CA&#8230;As 2021 California wildfire survivors begin the process of recovering, the California Governor\u2019s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is reminding property owners to sign up for the State\u2019s Consolidated Debris Removal Program (Program).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailytide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/256418563_256311733204627_6148320275518714737_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-11759\" src=\"https:\/\/dailytide.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/256418563_256311733204627_6148320275518714737_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"336\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>So far, debris removal work is happening on the ground with\u00a01,308\u00a0properties in nine counties are participating in the full program element of the no cost state-managed Program, which is administered by Cal OES and the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle), in collaboration with county officials.\u00a0 Another\u00a0144\u00a0properties are participating in the hazardous trees only element of the program.<\/p>\n<p>Property owners opt into the program by submitting a Right-of-Entry form (ROE) to their county, which allows the state to begin work on their property and incur no direct costs for the removal of burned metal, concrete, ash and contaminated soil from their properties.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRemoving wildfire debris is a foundational step to ensure families can rebuild and come back home. need additional work including:<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<pre>Separate contractors collect\u00a0soil samples\u00a0for verification at a laboratory that they meet state environmental health and safety standards.<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Contractors next may install\u00a0erosion control measures.<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Certified arborists or professional foresters\u00a0assess wildfire-damaged trees\u00a0in danger of falling on the public or public infrastructure for removal by separate contractors.<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Finally,\u00a0state officials inspect\u00a0the property to verify all completed work meets\u00a0state standards.\u00a0Debris officials submit a final inspection report to local officials to approve the property for The dashboard is updated every hour and provides users with the ability to search by county or address.\r\n\r\n* Data as of 11\/12\/21 at 1:45 p.m.\r\n\r\nAbout the California Consolidated Debris Removal Program:\r\n\r\nThis Program has two phases:<\/pre>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<pre>In Phase I, local government, state and federal agencies have organized teams of experts and contractors to inspect the property and assess, make safe, and\/or remove any household hazardous waste that may pose a threat to human health, animals, and the environment such as batteries, herbicides, pesticides, propane tanks, asbestos siding, and paints.
