Known as the \u201cjaws of life,\u201d first responders use these specialized tools to safely rescue crash victims trapped inside a vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/TCFDCF.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/TCFDCF.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"255\" height=\"261\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-134107\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/TCFDCF.jpg 255w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/TCFDCF-30x30.jpg 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 255px) 100vw, 255px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new equipment will help reduce the time it takes for us to safely reach someone who needs immediate medical attention,\u201d said TCFD Assistant Chief Andrew Murphy. \u201cWithout the OTS grant funding, we would not be able to purchase modern rescue tools critical for the care of those injured in crashes.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the regional crash response and extrication improvement program, rescue equipment purchased with this grant will benefit the communities of: TCFD Station 51 Mono Village, TCFD Station 55 Pinecrest, Twain Harte Community Services District Fire Department, Mi Wuk Sugar Pine Fire Protection District, and Columbia Fire Protection District.<\/p>\n<p>Delays in providing care to crash victims impacts the \u201cgolden hour\u201d of survival, a core principle in the emergency medical services industry.
