San Andreas, CA…Meet MIDGIE, an incredibly sweet and adorable medium-haired gray and white female kitten. Midgie was rescued from a feral colony. She was about half the size of her littermates – a true runt. At intake, she weighed less than 2 pounds and now, at about 4.5 months, she just tipped the scale at almost 3 pounds and is ready to be spayed. Midgie is very playful and energetic. She loves attention and especially enjoys being cuddled and getting brushed. Every human she meets is her new best friend. Midgie seems very healthy\u2013\u2013she\u2019s just miniature. This very special kitten needs a home where she is indoors only and will be showered with love and attention, because the shelter volunteers love her.<\/p>\n

All cats available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter are up-to-date on their routine vaccinations and will be microchipped. Midgie and all unaltered animals must be spayed or neutered before they can go home with you.<\/p>\n

Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
\nWhen the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off\u2013\u2013reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.<\/p>\n
