Parking is in back of the building. Donors are encouraged to\u00a0schedule an appointment by going online: donors.vitalant.org<\/a>\u00a0and use blood drive code SMFM399 or\u00a0call Vitalant at 877-258-4825 and mention blood code SMFM399.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a\n\nPower Red Donations:\u00a0The most common blood components transfused to patients are red cells. When you give a Power Red (also called double red) donation, you double the impact of your donation because you are giving two units of red cells.\u00a0 \nTo prepare for your donation:\n\uf0b7 For eligibility questions call Vitalant at 877-258-4825 or go to\u00a0Eligibility\ninformation\u00a0(COVID-19 eligibility is listed on the website).\n\uf0b7 Mask or face covering is required.\n\uf0b7 Please bring a photo I.D.\n\uf0b7 Eat a hearty iron-rich meal and drink plenty of water prior to donation (two to\nthree 8 ounce bottles of water two hours before donating).\n\uf0b7 16 year old\u2019s must have a signed Vitalant parent consent form.\n\uf0b7 Know that the hour you spend donating can help save a life!\n\u00a0\nThe Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) is so proud to sponsor and support the Calaveras Community blood drives and has just celebrated 20 years of service to residents of Calaveras County. Since the CCF was founded, it has given away over $2.8 million to a variety of local organizations. Annually CCF provides for dozens of scholarships and last year awarded over $182,000.00 in grants to well deserving charities.
