I\u2019ve been very excited about how I\u2019ve recovered each and every day. That\u2019s the challenge. \u2026 It\u2019s the recovery, how am I going to get the swelling out and recover for the next day. I have another day of nine more holes and then game time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=360&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FTheMasters%2Fvideos%2F955324668680630%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=640&#038;t=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Woods looked like a player who was capable of competing when he played nine holes both Sunday and Monday. He practiced Tuesday morning before the course was closed because of thunderstorms. A final nine-hole practice round was scheduled for Wednesday, he said.<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he could win this week, Woods said, \u201cI do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI can hit it just fine,\u201d he said. \u201cI don\u2019t have any qualms about what I can do physically from a golf standpoint. It\u2019s now, \u2026 walking is the hard part. This is not an easy walk to begin with. With the conditions my leg is in, it gets a little bit more difficult. Seventy-two holes is a long road. It\u2019s going to be a tough challenge and a challenge I\u2019m up for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fred Couples, the 1992 Masters champion, said Woods looked \u201cphenomenal\u201d during their Monday practice round with Justin Thomas. Golf Channel\u2019s Tuesday coverage from Augusta National\u2019s range showed Woods hitting drives with a 174 mph ball speed \u2013 three miles per hour faster than the TOUR average this season \u2013 and a carry distance of 298 yards. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo hit it like that, now it\u2019s just the walking part,\u201d Couples said. \u201cIf he can walk around here for 72 holes, he\u2019ll contend. He\u2019s too good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Masters is the first at full capacity since Woods\u2019 win here three years ago. His impact has been felt. Bryson DeChambeau was on the driving range Monday when he heard a roar come from the first tee area after Woods emerged from the clubhouse. Jon Rahm compared the crowd following Woods on Monday to the type of gallery usually seen on a weekend here.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou can feel it,\u201d Rahm said.
