Chico, CA…We are deeply saddened to share that Friday, May 6th, Firestorm Firefighter Darin Banks, of Red Bluff, California, tragically died after being struck by a dead tree that unexpectedly fell. Darin was assigned to a Type II Initial Attack Hand Crew working to prepare an area for prescribed burning in Tuolumne County.<\/p>\n

Darin was 26 years-old and loved by many. He leaves behind his 4-year-old son, mother, siblings, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
\nOur hearts go out to all who knew and loved Darin, and we ask you to keep them in your thoughts and prayers during this time of sorrow.
\nFirestorm will release more information regarding services as soon as it is available. <\/p>\n
