One Fatality &#038; Seven Accidents"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>San Andreas, CA&#8230;The New Year\u2019s MEP (Maximum Enforcement Period) began at 6:00 pm Thursday, December 31st and continued until 11:59 pm Sunday, January 3rd.  In Calaveras County the California Highway Patrol did not arrest anyone during this time period.  Last year there were 4 arrests for Driving Under the Influence.  Our officers handled seven accidents, none were DUI related and three resulted in injuries.  Unfortunately we were unable to make it four years in a row without a fatality during this time period.  We had ten fatalities for the year with the last one being on New Years Eve.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/chplogo.jpg\" alt=\"chplogo\" width=\"220\" height=\"94\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1763\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The San Andreas CHP Officers were working hard at slowing motorists down.
