{"id":142994,"date":"2022-06-22T10:09:34","date_gmt":"2022-06-22T17:09:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=142994"},"modified":"2022-06-22T10:10:27","modified_gmt":"2022-06-22T17:10:27","slug":"janette-marilyn-martin-bacon-jan-bacon-1941-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/?p=142994","title":{"rendered":"Janette Marilyn (Martin) Bacon \u201cJan Bacon\u201d 1941 &#8211; 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sonora, CA&#8230;Janette Marilyn (Martin) Bacon \u201cJan Bacon\u201d was welcomed to her heavenly home in the early morning hours of May 22, 2022 after a 26 year battle with breast cancer.\u00a0 Without a doubt she was greeted with the words \u201cWell done my good and faithful servant\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Janette-Bacon-Obit-Pic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-142995\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Janette-Bacon-Obit-Pic.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"504\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Janette-Bacon-Obit-Pic.jpg 746w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Janette-Bacon-Obit-Pic-285x300.jpg 285w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Janette-Bacon-Obit-Pic-570x599.jpg 570w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Janette-Bacon-Obit-Pic-701x737.jpg 701w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Janette was born in April 1941, the last of four children, to Fred Martin, Jr. and Emma Knodel in Bismarck, North Dakota. Her parents were first generation German immigrant farmers and Janette spent her childhood in South Dakota on a Sioux Indian reservation where her father owned a grocery store and was the town judge, even holding court in their living room (much to the chagrin of her friends when they found themselves \u201cin court\u201d two feet from her bedroom door!)<\/p>\n<p>In 1957 Janette moved with her parents to Los Altos, CA where she finished high school and in 1961 she married Richard Bacon Sr.\u00a0 Their first homes were purchased in San Jose, CA where their two children were born; Sharrie Lynn (Bacon) Henry (Ken Henry, granddaughter Kailyn, grandsons Jacob, Joshua) and Richard Lester Bacon, Jr. (granddaughter Aza, grandson Veight).<\/p>\n<p>In 1969 they visited Sonora and purchased a lot in Crystal Falls. With the help of friends they self-built an A-frame cabin, her beloved home to the end. They continued rearing their family which would include many foster children whom she embraced; Dawn LaRusch Bentley, Janet Pulliam, Salinas Bartel, Ben Harvey, and Natosha Cullens. Janette will always be \u201cNana\u201d to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.\u00a0 She was pre-deceased by her companion of 18 years, Roy Mittleider in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Jan was born with the heart of a Mother, daily pouring God\u2019s love and Truth into her children, grandchildren and those around her. Throughout her adulthood she started kids clubs, owned\/operated a daycare center, and spent 30 years working for Tuolumne County as a Social Worker in California Children\u2019s Services.\u00a0 In her final years she started a group at The Country Cowboy Church, \u201cWomen Supporting Women\u201d which she prayed will continue even in her absence.<\/p>\n<p>If she were to leave a final piece of advice for us all she\u2019d say\u2026\u00a0 \u201cDon\u2019t be a Dummkopf!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A Celebration of Life service will be held at The Country Cowboy Church, Sonora, Saturday, October 8th at 2pm.
