<\/a><\/p>\nBe here early to grab a good spot to watch our hometown, lighted parade starting at 5:30pm. The parade begins in the Black Bart Playhouse parking lot on Algiers, comes up to Main Street by the Murphys Historic Hotel, and continues down Main Street to Big Trees Road, so there is plenty of room to spread out. Several businesses have patios on the street where you can enjoy food or drinks while watching the parade.<\/p>\n
After the Open House Parade, stop in at Cedar Creek Realty, grab a treat, and enjoy their Christmas Polaroid Photo Booth! Most importantly, consider donating to the local Resource Connection food drive! Just bring a non-perishable food to drop in the CCR collection boxes anytime between Thanksgiving and mid-December at either the Arnold or Murphys offices. Canned goods are preferable, and self-opening cans are a bonus.<\/p>\n
Live Music abounds in Murphys. Stop by the Jazz Cellars Tasting Room between 7-8pm to hear Ras Beeken Dan, wander up to the rooftop deck at Boyle-McDonald, or step into the Murphys Irish Pub during and after Open House. There\u2019s also a rumor that Newsome Harlow may have one of Murphys\u2019 favorite singer-songwriters in their courtyard later in the evening.<\/p>\n
V Restaurant, Bistro & Bar will be hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus during Open House as well as collecting toys, so make sure to stop by and let the kids share their wishlists with Santa and drop off a toy to help make sure someone else\u2019s holiday is equally bright. You can also drop off toys at Jane & Jean and Chloe from now through mid December.<\/p>\n
You can sign up to volunteer to help with Open House here. Or simply show up with your friends to entertain us with some holiday music. Carolers are welcome, no need to schedule anything.<\/p>\n
If you want to get in the spirit early, stop by Hovey Tasting Room lawn on WEDNESDAY, November 30th at 9am to help decorate the town tree. The Garden in Murphys will be providing drinks and treats, Ironstone Vineyards will have donated another beautiful tree, and the Murphys Business Association members will be organizing the whole show.<\/p>\n
