Normal air traffic operations are resuming gradually across the United States following an overnight outage to the FAA\u2019s Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system that provides safety information to flight crews. The ground stop has been lifted.  The agency continues to look into the cause of the initial problem.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FAALogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"202\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-134825\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FAALogo.jpg 576w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FAALogo-300x105.jpg 300w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/FAALogo-570x200.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 576px) 100vw, 576px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>FAA STATEMENT 0815 EST<\/p>\n<p>The FAA is making progress in restoring its Notice to Air Missions system following an overnight outage.<\/p>\n<p>Departures are resuming at Newark Liberty (EWR) and Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson (ATL) airports due to air traffic congestion in those areas.<\/p>\n<p>We expect departures to resume at other airports at 9 a.m. Eastern Time.<\/p>\n<p>FAA STATEMENT 0715 EST<\/p>\n<p>The FAA is still working to fully restore the Notice to Air Missions system following an outage.<\/p>\n<p>The FAA has ordered airlines to pause all domestic departures until 9 a.m. Eastern Time to allow the agency to validate the integrity of flight and safety information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Washington, DC&#8230;Wednesday, January 11, 2023, FAA STATEMENT 0850 EST.
