<\/a><\/p>\nCrews made safe and fast progress clearing the area and making needed repairs after the closure. Once a portion of the affected roadway was clear, one-way controls were in place 24 hours each day to allow traffic between Midpines and El Portal.<\/p>\n
The full reopening of SR-140 came far sooner than the initial mid-February estimate. This was due to favorable weather conditions, equipment availability, plus the hard work and dedication of the Caltrans maintenance personnel assigned to the project.<\/p>\n
Motorists now have full access to and from Yosemite National Park via Routes 140, 120, and 41.
