Markleeville, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has issued a full closure of State Route 89 south of Laramie Street in Markleeville due to mudslides from recent winter storms. There is no estimated time when the highway will be reopened. Crews are working every day to reopen the highway as soon as possible. Motorists can access downtown Markeeville, including the Carson River Resort, traveling south on Route 89. Route 89 between Route 4 and U.S. 395 (Monitor Pass) remains closed for the winter.<\/p>\n
