The 2022 investments are expected to cut 10.4 million metric tons of pollution over the course of the projects.<\/p>\n<p>The state has invested more than $9.3 billion under this program statewide since 2014, which has:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<pre>Planted more than\u00a020 million trees\u00a0in urban and wildland areas<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Conserved or\u00a0restored 891,000 acres of land<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Funded\u00a010,300\u00a0affordable housing units<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Implemented 1,060 projects expanding or creating\u00a0new transit services<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Supported employment opportunities with over\u00a021,300 jobs<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<pre>Issued more than\u00a0427,500 rebates for zero\u2011emission\u00a0or plug\u2011in hybrid vehicles<\/pre>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre>Along with the report, the California Air Resources Board also released\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=da29baf7a9&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Legislative District Fact Sheets<\/a>\u00a0and updates to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=0a7d4169a0&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Project Map<\/a>, interactive\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=dac8c9288d&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Story Map<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=09aeeb33b3&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Data Dashboard<\/a>. The space also hosts the headquarters for the new Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California and increases the urban tree canopy with 250 new shade trees.\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Picture1-cci.png?w=371\" alt=\"\" width=\"371\" height=\"278\" \/>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=5f308347ea&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Sequestering Carbon Through Land Management and Tribal Partnership<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 This project supported the restoration of 500 acres of habitat at Van Norden Meadow, a place of historical significance for the local Washoe Tribe. More than 34,000 metric tons of CO2 equivalent will be captured, while also improving community access, bolstering climate resiliency, and improving conditions for wildlife. The project was made possible by $3.9 million in funding from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=602f4a43d7&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Wetlands and Watershed Restoration Program<\/a>, the South Yuba River Citizens League, and the Washoe Tribe and federal, state, local, and nonprofit partners.\r\n\r\n\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Picture2-cci.jpg?w=420\" alt=\"\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" \/>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=e0d95569d6&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Clean Mobility Solutions Support Seniors in Chula Vista<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 The City of Chula Vista launched an all-electric, on-demand community shuttle serving the local senior community. Many in the community cannot physically drive or afford to drive. The project was made possible in part by a nearly $1 million grant from CARB\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=2c7cac9f7b&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Clean Mobility Options<\/a>\u00a0Program, and is making transportation easier, cleaner, safer, and more affordable with four zero\u2011emission vehicles, one of which will be American Disabilities Act accessible.\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Picture3-cci.jpg?w=407\" alt=\"\" width=\"407\" height=\"305\" \/>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=0e75097107&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Protecting Forests from Catastrophic Fire<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Forest resiliency projects helped protect some of the world\u2019s most iconic trees near the Mariposa Grove in Yosemite National Park from the 2022 Washburn Fire, thanks to a $2 million grant from CAL FIRE\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=5627f7d699&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Forest Health Program<\/a>. Fuels reduction work done through a partnership between Mariposa County Resource Conservation District, the National Park Service, and local tribal forest crews reduced the fire\u2019s severity and helped firefighters protect the giant sequoia grove and nearby community of Wawona.\r\n\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Picture4-cci.png?w=480\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\" \/>\r\n\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=af5cb57523&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Addressing Community-Identified Needs through Electrified Transit in Commerce<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Commerce has a new zero-emissions dial-a-ride shuttle and zero-emissions weekend bus service, requests that were made directly by residents as part of a community outreach process thanks to more than $3 million in funding from a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/mclist.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=afffa58af0d1d42fee9a20e55&amp;id=d6da72ff81&amp;e=4445b5a765\">Sustainable Transportation Equity Project<\/a>.
