San Andreas, CA…The Calaveras Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) announced details of their upcoming Digital Inclusion Community Mini-Grants. This initiative is aimed at empowering older adults and persons with disabilities through digital connectivity and technology access. Applications will open by the end of the month.<\/p>\n

This mini-grant initiative is part of HHSAs commitment to bridge the digital divide, combat social isolation, and promote self-confidence among these vital members of our community. With a focus on providing essential resources, education, and training, the program seeks to create a more inclusive and connected Calaveras County.<\/p>\n

“Digital technology is crucial more than ever in staying connected, accessing resources, and maintaining independence,” said Cori Allen, HHSA Director. “These mini-grants represent a step towards fostering a more accessible and supportive environment for Calaveras older adults and persons with disabilities.”<\/p>\n

These mini-grants will provide funding to local groups to address:
\n\u2022 Access to Technology: Provide devices such as laptops, tablets, and smartphones to help people get connected and engaged.
\n\u2022 Education and Training: Offer workshop and training opportunities to build confidence on how to use devices, navigate online resources, or classes covering topics such as online safety.
\n\u2022 Enhance Social Connections: Combating social isolation by expanding ways people can connect with loved ones through digital technologies.<\/p>\n

Community-based organizations, nonprofits, local agencies, and groups passionate about creating positive change are encouraged to apply. Interested groups are encouraged to attend an upcoming informational webinar on August 31st from 2-3PM to learn more. To register, visit https:\/\/bit.ly\/3Yk06W7.
