CAL FIRE Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit Chief Nick Casci is formally cancelling the burn permit suspension and advises that those possessing current and valid agriculture and residential burn permits can now resume burning on permissible burn days. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/calfiretcu.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"275\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-45557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/calfiretcu.jpg 320w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/calfiretcu-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/calfiretcu-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/calfiretcu-30x30.jpg 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 275px) 100vw, 275px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Agriculture burns must be inspected by CAL FIRE prior to burning until the end of the peak fire season. Inspections may be required for burns other than agriculture burns. This can be verified by contacting your local Air Quality Management District.<\/p>\n<p>Cooler temperatures, higher humidity\u2019s and the chance of winter weather have provided conditions that are conducive for burning within the parameters of a burn permit. Property owners and residents are asked to use caution while conducting debris or agriculture burns, follow all guidelines provided, and maintain control of the fire at all times. Individuals can be held civilly and\/or criminally liable for allowing a fire to escape their control and\/or burn onto neighboring property.<\/p>\n<p>Residents wishing to burn MUST verify it is a permissive burn day prior to burning.<br \/>\nCalaveras County: (209) 754-6600<br \/>\nTuolumne County: (209) 533-5598<br \/>\nSan Joaquin and Stanislaus Counties: (877) 429-2876<\/p>\n<p>Pile Burning Requirements<br \/>\n\u2022 Only dry, natural vegetative material such as leaves, pine needles and tree trimmings may be burned.<br \/>\n\u2022 The burning of trash, painted wood or other debris is not allowed.<br \/>\n\u2022 Do NOT burn on windy days.<br \/>\n\u2022 Piles should be no larger than four feet in diameter and in height. You can add to pile as it burns down.<br \/>\n\u2022 Clear a 10-foot diameter down to bare soil around your piles.<br \/>\n\u2022 Have a shovel and a water source nearby.<br \/>\n\u2022 An adult is required to be in attendance of the fire at all times.<\/p>\n<p>Safe residential pile burning of forest residue by landowners is a crucial tool in reducing fire hazards.
