San Andreas, CA…May we introduce Miss Josie? She is, a spayed female\u00a0German Shepherd Dog mix, estimated to be about 16 months young and weighing 69 pounds. Josie is one of the most beautiful dogs to pass through our portals. You can see she won our photographer\u2019s heart!<\/p>\n

Josie has just completed 6 weeks of daily classes at Twin Cedars Canine with Margaret Blair, and we really see a difference. She is much calmer and now, will sit on command and walk on a loose leash.\u00a0
\n Josie is also an affectionate girl. She likes all the dogs she has met at the shelter,\u00a0and they bring out her joy. She enjoys her playdates. A meet \u2019n greet is required\u00a0if you have another dog. <\/p>\n

NOTE: It is mandatory for Josie to be well contained. She will scale an 8-foot fence if lonely. She is a high energy dog who will need lots of exercise and activity. She will juggle and chase the ball. She\u00a0sits for treats.<\/p>\n

Josie is an interesting mix.\u00a0Her DNA test shows\u00a082% GSD, 6 % Malinois, 3% White Swiss shepherd, 2 % Collie, 2% Australian shepherd, 3 % Chow & 2% Akita<\/p>\n

Adoption fees include\u00a0spay\/neuter,\u00a0a microchip and vaccines, including rabies.<\/p>\n

All pets available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter are up-to-date on their routine vaccinations and will be microchipped. All unaltered cats and dogs must be spayed or neutered before they can go home with you.<\/p>\n

Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
\nWhen the dog or cat population at the shelter is at 80% or above capacity, the total adoption fee will be 50% off\u2013\u2013reduced to $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. The adoption fee for cats who arrive at the shelter already altered will be $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, any time an adopter is 55 or older and adopts any pet over 5 years old, the adoption fee is $5.<\/p>\n
