Mr. Solis was wearing dark clothing, facing away from traffic, during hours of darkness in an area that is not illuminated by streetlights.  At that same time, 39-year-old Joseph Brinegar of Sonora was driving a GMC Acadia eastbound on Mono Way at approximately 40-45 MPH, approaching Mr. Solis\u2019 location.  Mr. Brinegar did not see that Mr. Solis was in his lane before the right front of his vehicle struck Mr. Solis.  <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-37822\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson.jpg 200w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson-30x30.jpg 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As a result of the crash, Mr. Solis sustained major injuries. Upon the arrival of CHP officers, lifesaving measures were attempted, however Mr. Solis succumbed to his injures at the scene. Mr. Brinegar was wearing a seatbelt and was uninjured.
