<\/p>\nValley Springs, CA…Firefighters and First Responders were alerted of a plane crash yesterday afternoon in Valley Springs. The single-engine plane crashed in the backcountry of Mt. Buena Vista above New Hogan Lake. The non-injured pilot was able to contact authorities by phone regarding the incident. The Sheriff\u2019s Department was able to ping the pilot’s phone, and the search and rescue effort began.<\/p>\n

Due to the steep terrain and remote location, a CHP helicopter was requested to assist in the search and rescue. The CHP helicopter was able to locate the crash site and rescue the uninjured female pilot just before sunset.<\/p>\n
Details regarding the crash will be under the investigation of the FAA.<\/p>\n
The pilot had departed from the Calaveras County Airport in San Andreas before the crash.<\/p>\n
