Bigger picture<\/p>\n

California is home to 35 of the world\u2019s 50 leading AI companies, high-impact research and education institutions, and a quarter of the technology\u2019s patents and conference papers. The Golden State, which has the most equitable tax system in the\u00a0entire country<\/a>, is #1 in the nation for new\u00a0business starts<\/a>, #1 for access to venture capital\u00a0funding<\/a>, and the #1 state for\u00a0manufacturing<\/a>,\u00a0high-tech<\/a>, and\u00a0agriculture<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Last month, Governor Newsom\u00a0announced<\/a>\u00a0that California\u2019s travel spending reached an all-time high of $150.4 billion last year. This comes after the state\u2019s\u00a0population increased<\/a>\u00a0for the first time since the pandemic and the International Monetary Fund\u2019s World Economic Outlook noting that California remains the\u00a05th largest economy in the world<\/a>\u00a0for the seventh consecutive year, with a nominal GDP of nearly $3.9 trillion in 2023 and a growth rate of 6.1% since the year prior, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
