Copperopolis, CA…Update: The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office in coordination with Calaveras OES is continuing to monitor the wildfire in Copperopolis. Here are the latest updates: Fire Status: The wildfire has reached roughly 1,500 acres. 5,000 residents are without power. Road Closures: Highway 4 at Little John Road (Highway 4 at Obyrnes Ferry) is closed. Pool Station Road at Highway 4 remains closed. Hunt Road at Milton Road, Salt Springs Valley Road, Felix Road, and Rock Creek Road are also closed. Evacuation Order: The areas of Copper Town Square and Obyrnes Ferry Road to the county line are under an evacuation order. All residents are ordered to immediately evacuate. <\/p>\n

Evacuation Centers: Valley Springs Veterans Hall (for residents west of the Town Square): 189 Pine Street, Valley Springs, CA 95252.<\/p>\n

Mark Twain Elementary School (secondary evacuation center for those east of Pool Station): 646 Stanislaus Ave, Angels Camp, CA 95222.<\/p>\n

Animal Evacuation:
\nUpdated* Domestic animals are allowed Mark Twain Elementary School (Updated from BHHS).
\nLivestock can be taken to the Calaveras County Fairgrounds: 2465 Gunclub Road, Angels Camp, CA 95222.<\/p>\n

The Red Cross is already en route to these evacuation centers to provide assistance. <\/p>\n

Please stay alert and follow any evacuation orders or safety instructions from emergency personnel. If you feel unsafe, please do not delay evacuating.<\/p>\n
