<\/a><\/p>\nOne of the highlight events of the weekend was a benefit race on Friday night, in which law enforcement officers and firefighters competed against each other to raise money for charity. Participants included representatives from the Lyon County Sheriff\u2019s Office in Nevada, the City of Reno Police Department, and the Carson City Fire Department, along with several other emergency service and first responder agencies.<\/p>\n
Sgt. Anderson kicked off the night with a heat race win, outpacing a Reno Police Officer and two Nevada Firefighters. Later, in the highly anticipated \u201cCops vs. Fire\u201d main event, Sgt. Anderson and seven other first responders chased a Lyon County Sheriff\u2019s Sergeant for 10 laps. In a thrilling finish, Anderson secured an impressive second place.<\/p>\n
Sgt. Anderson has dedicated 12 years of service to the Sheriff\u2019s Office and is currently assigned to the Patrol Division. In addition to his regular duties, he actively participates in SWAT as a team leader and Bomb Squad training sessions and callouts, demonstrating his commitment to public safety. Outside of his law enforcement responsibilities, Sgt. Anderson is an avid racing enthusiast and can often be found at a racetrack in Northern California. His passion for racing reflects his dedication to his professional and personal pursuits, showcasing the diverse interests contributing to his well-rounded character. As a respected department member, he inspires his colleagues with his leadership and work ethic. Sgt.
