Philidelphia PA…The National Constitution Center (NCC) has been selected as the location of the 2024 presidential debate hosted by ABC News on Tuesday, September 10, at\u00a09 p.m. EDT. \u201cWorld News Tonight\u201d anchor and managing editor\u00a0David Muir\u00a0and ABC News Live \u201cPrime\u201d anchor\u00a0Linsey Davis\u00a0will serve as moderators.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe National Constitution Center\u2019s mission is to model civil dialogue and debate and we are honored to be selected as the location for the presidential debate in September,\u201d said\u00a0Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center. \u201cPresidential debates are a meaningful opportunity for all Americans to learn more about the principles that define American democracy, embodied in the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, and the American idea.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NCC has played host to numerous high-profile events since its opening on July 4, 2003. The Center hosted the Democratic primary presidential debate in 2008, and two ABC News town halls ahead of the 2020 presidential election, featuring then-President\u00a0Donald Trump\u00a0and then-candidate President\u00a0Joe Biden. Other Center-hosted programs over the years have welcomed Supreme Court justices, federal judges, lawmakers, and civic leaders.<\/p>\n

The NCC also awards annually the\u00a0Liberty Medal<\/a>, among the nation’s highest honors to be presented to people around the globe who have committed themselves to the blessings of liberty. Past winners include: Ukrainian President\u00a0Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Supreme Court Justices\u00a0Anthony Kennedy\u00a0and\u00a0Ruth Bader Ginsburg, President\u00a0George W. Bush\u00a0and First Lady\u00a0Laura Bush, Senator\u00a0John McCain, Congressman\u00a0John Lewis\u00a0and many others. The 2024 Liberty Medal recipient is filmmaker\u00a0Ken Burns.<\/p>\n
