<\/a><\/p>\nThe Sonora Bach Festival will be presenting the second of its October events. Fifteen local performers will present the instrumental and vocal music of classical composers. Marguerite Close, Concert manager said, \u201cThis community is rich in classical talent. \u00a0Every year, I look forward to the Bach Festival Locals Concert where we can hear and see our friends and neighbors performing beautiful music\u201d.<\/p>\n
This year the musicians will perform on violin, voice, guitar, piano, and flute. They perform as soloists and ensemble players which will include duets and quartets. They are all active in choral and instrumental groups in the Central Sierra.<\/p>\n
One unusual offering is a concerto for 4 violins without any accompaniment. Written by George Philippe Telemann, a contemporary of J. S. Bach, the concerto uses the 4 violins playing alternating role as soloists and sometimes accompanists. The ensemble are all members the Brook Moes family including their teacher and father, Brook Moes; Brynja Moes (Daughter); Ethan Moes (Son); and Victoria Moes Hare (Daughter). All were taught violin by their father who has the Suzuki School of Northern California in Angels Camp.<\/p>\n
Making his Bach festival debut, is Tristan Peretti. He studied piano and composition at San Jose State University with\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Gwendolyn Mok, detouring into a rock ‘n’ roll band for a number of years.\u00a0 He moved to Tuolumne County in 2021 with his wife where he currently sings in the Saint Patrick’s parish choir. He will be playing three (from 555!) of the short, 1-movement sonatas for the keyboard by Domenico Scarlatti.<\/p>\n
Other Performers are Sheila Low, Soprano; Esau Munoz, Guitar; Sandra Betti, Flute; Janet Telford, Flute; Mark Siever, Piano; Linelle Marshall, Soprano; Bethany Winters, piano; Enoch Samraj, Bass-Baritone; Gail Johnson, Piano; and John Carter, Conductor;<\/p>\n
The program will be Music of Vivaldi; Schumann; J.S. Bach; Domenico Scarlatti; Handel.
\nConcerto for Two Violins in A Minor\/Vivaldi; Stille Tranen, Op. 35, NO. 10\/Schumann; Air from Suite #3, BWV 1068\/Bach; Sonata in E Major, K. 380; Sonata in B Minor, K. 87; Sonata in B Minor, K. 27\/D. Scarlatti; Concerto in C Major, RV. 533\/Vivaldi Concerto for 4 Violins in D major\/Telemann; Bist Du Bei Mir\/J. S. Bach; Ben Conosco a Poco a Poco from \u201c Arsilda Regina di Ponto\u201d\/Vivaldi; Prelude and Fuge in D Minor from Well Tempered Clavier, Vol. I\/J.S. Bach; from \u201cJudas Maccabaeus: Recitative \u201cI feel the Deity Within\u201d and Aria \u201cArm, \\arm ye brave\u201d \/Handel; and the chorus Jesu, Joy of Man\u2019s Desiring from Cantata 147\/J. S. Bach<\/p>\n
The performance will conclude with Bach\u2019s \u201cJesu Joy of Man\u2019s Desiring with all the performers and the audience and conducted by board member, and retired Columbia College Professor, John Carter.<\/p>\n
