Sacramento, CA…According to new data from the California Energy Commission, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in California is 20 cents lower than last year and 70 cents lower than 2022 \u2013 saving Californians billions of dollars at the pump.\u00a0 That is still $2.08 per gallon more than the lowest price in other states.<\/p>\n

Californians are paying less at the pump this holiday season, according to new data shared recently<\/a>\u00a0by the California Energy Commission. And it\u2019s in part thanks to the Newsom Administration\u2019s efforts to protect consumers at the pump with new transparency on the oil industry.<\/p>\n

The CEC is closely\u00a0tracking gas prices<\/a>\u00a0as part of SB X1-2, looking at the influence of several factors, including gasoline supply and refinery maintenance.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Smith talked about the data transparency and analysis activities that CEC is implementing under the law, including the following:<\/em><\/p>\n
