* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 3
\nfeet above 5500 feet, up to 4 feet over peaks. Winds gusting as
\nhigh as 70 mph.<\/p>\n
* WHERE…West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada County.<\/p>\n
* WHEN…From 1 PM this afternoon to 10 AM PST Wednesday.<\/p>\n
* IMPACTS…Travel will be very difficult to impossible. Slick
\ntravel conditions are expected, with chain controls likely. The
\nhazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening through
\nTuesday evening commutes. Strong winds could cause reduced
\nvisibility and tree damage.<\/p>\n

\nMotherlode, Northeast Foothills\/Sacramento Valley, Northern
\nSacramento Valley, Northern San Joaquin Valley, Southern
\nSacramento Valley, West Slope Northern Sierra Nevada and Western
\nPlumas County\/Lassen Park.<\/p>\n
* WHEN…From this afternoon through late Tuesday night.<\/p>\n
* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
\ncreeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
\nCreeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
\nin poor drainage and urban areas. There is the potential for mud
\nand rock slides in the foothills and mountains.<\/p>\n
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
\n– Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall are expected over the
\nnext 36 hours with totals 2 to 4 inches in the Valley, 3
\nto 8 inches in the foothills, and 5 to 10 inches in the
\nmountains below below 5500 feet. Heaviest period of rain will
\nbe this evening into Tuesday night.
