Upon arrival, CHP officers determined this to be a three vehicle<br \/>\nfatal traffic collision, with the passenger of Vehicle#1 sustaining fatal injuries. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-37824\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan.jpg 200w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpsan-30x30.jpg 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The driver of Vehicle #1 and passenger of Vehicle #2 sustaining apparent major injuries. Officers contacted the drivers of the three vehicles and several independent witnesses. Driver #1 was driving Vehicle #1 eastbound on SR-26. Driver #2 was driving Vehicle #2 westbound on SR-26. Driver #3 was driving Vehicle #3 behind Vehicle #2, on westbound SR-26. For an unknown reason, Driver #1 allowed Vehicle #1 to travel into the opposing westbound traffic lane. The front of Vehicle #1 collided with the front of Vehicle #2. Driver #1 was flown by air-ambulance to a local trauma center for his injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Passenger of Vehicle #1 sustained fatal injuries. Driver #2 was taken by ground ambulance to a local trauma center for her injuries. Passenger #1 of Vehicle #2 was flown by air-ambulance to a local trauma center.
