<\/a><\/p>\nJust this week, crews with the Stanislaus National Forest have responded to five wildfires on the forest \u2013 all were immediately suppressed with no damage to life or property.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven in those areas not in fire restrictions, we\u2019re asking folks to remember more than 90% of wildfires are human caused,\u201d said Acting Forest Supervisor, Jim Junette. \u201cMake sure you trailer chains are properly secured and that any fire you have in an authorized location is either fully attended or cold to the touch out.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the Forest Order, the following activities are prohibited in High Fire Hazard Area (see attached map:<\/p>\n
1. Discharging a firearm. 36 CFR \u00a7 261.58(m)<\/p>\n
2. Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, or stove fire, except in the Developed Recreation Sites listed in Exhibit C. 36 C.F.R. \u00a7 261.52(a).<\/p>\n
3. Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, within an open Developed Recreation Site listed in Exhibit C, or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable material. 36 C.F.R. \u00a7 261.52(d).<\/p>\n
4. Welding or operating an acetylene or other torch with an open flame. 36 C.F.R.\u00a7 261.52(h).<\/p>\n
5. Operating or using any internal or external combustion engine without a spark arresting device that is properly installed, maintained, and in effective working order in accordance with U.S. Forest Service Standard 5100-1. 36 C.F.R \u00a7 261.5(j).<\/p>\n
