Sacramento, CA…Governor Gavin Newsom today approved the prepositioning of firefighting resources in Plumas, Nevada, and Sierra counties in response to critical fire weather conditions forecasted to impact the area starting Wednesday, July 30, through Thursday, July 31, 2025.<\/p>\n

A total of 14 fire engines, four water tenders, and two dispatchers are prepositioned in Nevada, Sierra, and Plumas counties. These efforts ensure that resources are ready to respond quickly, minimizing the potential impact of new fires.<\/p>\n

Today\u2019s announcement follows the recent\u00a0prepositioning of resources\u00a0in\u00a0Nevada, Plumas and Sierra counties from July 23 to July 25<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0as well as\u00a0Plumas and Sierra counties from July 20 to July 22.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n
