Recent rainfall and cooler weather conditions have reduced the threat of wildfire within the State Responsibility Areas (SRA) of the Tuolumne &#8211; Calaveras Unit (TCU). Before you burn, ensure the following precautions are taken:<br \/>\n\u2022 Make sure it is a permissible burn day<br \/>\n\u2022 Burn only dry natural vegetative materials such as leaves, pine needles, and tree trimmings<br \/>\n\u2022 Do not burn trash or construction materials<br \/>\n\u2022 Provide at least 10\u2019 of clearance down to bare mineral soil around your burn piles<br \/>\n\u2022 Ensure that a responsible adult is in attendance with a water supply and shovel<br \/>\n\u2022 Never burn on windy days.<\/p>\n<p>Residents and landowners are responsible for maintaining control of their fires. Smoldering piles can contain enough heat to ignite surrounding vegetation.
