As the vehicle approached a right curve in the roadway, the driver allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway and travel off the south roadway edge of State Route 120. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-37822\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson.jpg 200w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/chpson-30x30.jpg 30w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a result, the vehicle became airborne, coming to rest approximately 400 feet down a steep, brush covered embankment after over-turning multiple times.<\/p>\n<p>Due to the terrain at that location and ensuing darkness, emergency personnel were not able to locate the<br \/>\nvehicle or the driver until January 9, 2026, at approximately 11:08 am. <\/p>\n<p>The responding CHP officer negotiated difficult terrain on foot down the embankment and discovered this crash resulted in fatal injuries to the driver. <\/p>\n<p>The driver\u2019s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
