<\/a><\/p>\nDuring his 20-year career with the Calaveras County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Nuttall was involved in many high-profile cases, including the officer-involved shooting and manhunt in San Andreas in 1992, where 2 Calaveras Deputies and a K9 were shot before a multi-day manhunt preceding the apprehension of the suspect. In addition, Nuttall was one of the team members who flew to Calgary, Canada, to extradite the suspect in the Wilseyville serial killings.<\/p>\n
When Nuttall left the Calaveras County Sheriff\u2019s Office, he remained in law enforcement for several years, after being appointed as the Chief of Police in Angels Camp.<\/p>\n
Many of the current command staff at the Sheriff\u2019s Office had the pleasure of working with Sheriff Nuttall early in their careers. In his last few years, we all watched him enjoy life riding horses with his wife, who is a retired Calaveras County Sheriff\u2019s Dispatcher, and sharing stories with him at the annual retirement parties.<\/p>\n
Rest in peace, Sir, and thank you for your service to the citizens of Calaveras County and for mentoring many of us who are still employed with the department.<\/p>\n
