Tuolumne County Sheriff\u2019s Animal Control strongly encourages residents to ensure that:<br \/>\n\u2022 Dogs and cats are current on rabies vaccinations<br \/>\n\u2022 Horses, goats, cattle, and other susceptible livestock are vaccinated when appropriate under veterinary guidance<br \/>\n\u2022 Domestic animals are supervised outdoors<br \/>\n\u2022 Feed sources are secured to avoid attracting wildlife Vaccinated domestic animals and livestock provide an important barrier between wildlife disease exposure and human safety.<\/p>\n<p>Reporting Is Essential<br \/>\nResidents should immediately report:<br \/>\n\u2022 Wildlife acting abnormally<br \/>\n\u2022 Any animal bite or scratch involving wildlife, animals, or humans<br \/>\n\u2022 Domestic animals exposed to wildlife<br \/>\n\u2022 Any bite or scratch involving domestic animals with humans Prompt reporting allows rapid investigation, testing, quarantine when necessary, and helps protect the community from further exposure.
