<\/a><\/p>\nHe\u2019s the kind of dog who seems genuinely happy just to be included in whatever is going on. Volunteers describe him as playful, people-loving, and full of joyful energy. Radar adores attention and is always ready to roll over for belly rubs, soaking up affection with complete trust and enthusiasm. Even after months in the shelter, he has held onto his upbeat spirit.<\/p>\n
Radar also enjoys the company of other dogs and has consistently shown himself to be social and friendly during introductions. He would likely thrive in an active home where he can enjoy regular walks, playtime, and companionship. He still gets excited on leash and can pull at times, but he responds well to guidance and clearly wants to please. He already knows \u201csit\u201d and \u201cdown,\u201d takes treats gently, and continues to work on his manners.<\/p>\n
What makes Radar especially heartbreaking is how easy it is to picture him as someone\u2019s beloved family dog already. He has the personality of a dog who belongs on hikes, stretched across a living room rug, or greeting his people at the door with that big goofy grin. Instead, he has spent month after month waiting in a kennel while younger puppies and newer arrivals come and go.<\/p>\n
Radar has done his part by staying loving, hopeful, and ready. Now he just needs someone to give him the chance he\u2019s been waiting for\u2014a home where he can finally stop being overlooked and start being cherished.<\/p>\n

All dogs available for adoption at the Calaveras Animal Shelter are up to date on their routine vaccinations and will be microchipped. All unaltered dogs must be spayed or neutered before they can go home with you.<\/p>\n
Animal Services now has a Fee Flexibility Program!
\nThe shelter is currently over 80% capacity, so adoption fees are reduced: just $40 for dogs and $30 for cats. Cats who arrive at the shelter already altered can be adopted for only $10. With the 55-5-5 Program, adopters age 55+ can adopt a pet over 5 years old for just $5.<\/p>\n
June 13: Free Dog & Cat Rabies Vaccine and Microchip Clinic, from 9-11:30 AM at the Calaveras Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road. Dogs must be leashed, cats must be in carriers.<\/p>\n
