This result stems from an increase of 0.3<br \/>\npercent in average hourly earnings combined with an increase of 0.5 percent in the Consumer Price<br \/>\nIndex for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/blslogo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/blslogo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"238\" height=\"208\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-6322\" srcset=\"https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/blslogo.jpg 238w, https:\/\/new.thepinetree.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/blslogo-150x131.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 238px) 100vw, 238px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Real average weekly earnings decreased 0.2 percent over the month due to the change in real average<br \/>\nhourly earnings combined with no change in the average workweek.  <\/p>\n<p>From May 2025 to May 2026, real average hourly earnings decreased 0.7 percent, seasonally adjusted.<br \/>\nThe change in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.3-percent increase in the average<br \/>\nworkweek resulted in a 0.4-percent decrease in real average weekly earnings over this period.<\/p>\n<p>Production and nonsupervisory employees<\/p>\n<p>Real average hourly earnings for production and nonsupervisory employees decreased 0.3 percent from<br \/>\nApril to May, seasonally adjusted.
