Jackson, CA…On August 6, 2026, at approximately 3:15 p.m. officers from the Jackson Police Department responded to a report of a possible three vehicle traffic collision at the intersection of State Highway 88 and Mission Boulevard. <\/p>\n
Upon arrival, officers located three vehicles that had been involved in a significant collision. Officers and emergency medical personnel immediately began providing aid to a male driver of one of the involved vehicles. Despite lifesaving efforts, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. <\/p>\n
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The drivers and\/or occupants of the second and third vehicles were evaluated and declined medical services at the scene. The collision remains under investigation. <\/p>\n
At this time, investigators are working to determine the circumstances and contributing factors that led to the collision. No determination regarding fault or cause has been made and no drug or alcohol use was suspected of being a factor in this investigation. <\/p>\n
The westbound lane of State Highway 88 was temporarily closed while emergency personnel treated those involved and investigators documented the scene. The Jackson Police Department appreciates the patience and cooperation of motorists and community members while the investigation was conducted. <\/p>\n
