Jamestown, CA… California State Parks, Railtown 1897 State Historic Park (SHP) and the California State Railroad Museum Foundation are proud to offer family-friendly \u201cHarvest Haunt Express\u201d train rides on all weekends in October 2016. With the train whimsically decorated for Halloween and staffed by a \u201cskeleton crew,\u201d the popular train rides take place aboard an excursion train that departs at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. On Saturdays, the excursion train will be pulled by Sierra No. 3\u2122 (the \u201cMovie Star Locomotive\u201d) and on Sundays by a vintage diesel locomotive. Train ride guests are encouraged to get in the spirit and dress up according to these fun weekly themes: Monster Mash (October 1-2), Critters & Creatures (October 8-9), Superheroes & Villains (October 15-16), Pirates & Princesses (October 22-23) and Witches & Wizards (October 29-30). <\/p>\n

Located in the heart of California\u2019s Gold Country, Railtown 1897 SHP combines railroad heritage, local history and the lure of Hollywood and is one of only two authentic and still-operating steam-era railroad roundhouse complexes in the entire country. The Park is home to the famous \u201cMovie Star Locomotive\u201d Sierra No. 3\u2122, which has an impressive history of starring in more than 200 film and television productions such as \u201cHigh Noon,\u201d \u201cBack to the Future 3\u201d and \u201cPetticoat Junction.\u201d <\/p>\n

Tickets for \u201cHarvest Haunt Express\u201d train rides (which include Park admission) are $15 adults, $10 youths ages 6-17, ages 5 and under are free.
