\nresidents ages 50 and older.
\n\u201cIts sole purpose is to foster fun and fellowship with a group of like-minded individuals in a safe,
\nsupportive environment,\u201d said Linda Emerson, one of several area residents helping to organize
\nthe group.
\nThe group was organized following a speed-dating event at the Friends and Neighbors Expo in
\nJune, after more than 30 people signed up to participate in such a club. Volunteers have held
\nseveral meetings, created a Facebook page and plan regular get-togethers.
\nThe Friday evening event is in conjunction with Jamestown\u2019s last \u201cFirst Friday Art Walk, Wine &
\nDine,\u201d an event featuring music in downtown\u2019s Rocca Park, starting at 5pm.
