Murphys, CA…On 24 October 2016, an employee of a caf\u00e9 in Murphys called the Sonora Police Department, after observing Louis Page inside the caf\u00e9. Page was wanted for questioning regarding a felony hit and run accident, which occurred on 18 October 2016, at the intersection of N. Washington and Elkin Streets, sending a pedestrian to the hospital with major injuries.<\/p>\n

The Sonora Police Department contacted the Calaveras County Sheriff\u2019s Department, who sent a Deputy to contact and detain Page until an Officer from the Sonora Police Department could arrive to speak with Page regarding the accident.<\/p>\n

Page readily admitted to the crime, stating he left the scene of the accident because he could not find a place to pull over after striking the pedestrian with his vehicle. Damage was located on Page\u2019s vehicle, which was consistent with the description of the collision provided by witnesses.
